I Can Do It! A Hay House Conference

I Can Do It! Blessed, inspiring and igniting are the words that come to mind when I attend magnificent conferences like this one. This three-day Hay House conference, now in it’s fifth year, delivered in all areas with remarkable spiritual leaders wetting our appetites with intention to fulfill our life’s purpose. All I can say is that it’s events like this that solidify my purpose and path as a writer and teacher - with passion.
Louise Hay Turns 85

Hay House authors Dr. Brian Weiss (Many Lives, Many Masters), Marianne Williamson (A Return To Love and A Course In Weight Loss), Sandra Anne Taylor and Darren Weissman set the tone for the weekend with pre-conference workshops all day Friday that took eager attendees on past life regressions, cleared blocked energy from the charkas, provided emotional weight loss workouts, and helped reprogram toxic thought patterns.

However, it wasn’t until Wayne Dyer (at 71 years young) took center stage that night, that the spiritual party really got started.  He began by
Wayne Dyer has arrived!
delivering his dimensional thoughts on Mastering the Art of Manifestation, aligning beautifully with his new book, Wishes Fulfilled (due out February 28, 2012), I am Wishes Fulfilled Meditation CD, and his new PBS special also titled, Wishes Fulfilled (scheduled to air on March 3, 2012). "The creator has implanted a fragment of source in all of us – all knowing, capable of creating anything. What if we could all manifest something from a dream state – it’s time to utilize this power in all of us."

We cried, and we laughed as Dyer shared about his journey in having Leukemia and choosing not to continue following the conventional methods of treatment. He looked amazing and recommended some of his favorite new meditation accompaniments including a cd by James Twyman - The Moses Code (tracks 8-9).

After sharing these insights about his own health, Dyer introduced Anita Moorjani to the audience. Moorjani, a young woman from Japan, shared her profound personal story - an experience of death and life. She had cancer and had slipped into a coma in what her family thought would be the last chapter. However, once she was pronounced dead in a hospital room and crossed over, she met up with her father and best-friend, who quickly ushered her back into her body to fulfill her life's purpose in this lifetime - inspiring others with physical challenges though the wisdom she had gained from her own out of body experience. When she woke from her death state, the doctors were quite baffled as she no longer had cancer. Her story is a true affirmation that there are real miracles constantly happening around us everyday, and in every moment. Louise Hay & Cheryl Richardson
Another highlight came the next day when Louise Hay walked across the stage to a standing ovation in celebration of her 85th birthday! Cheryl Richardson, co-author of Hay's new book - Creating An Exceptional Life - joined her at an informal table setting for two, to talk about their journey as friends and visionaries in writing their new book. At one point they began talking about 'mirror work' – the experience of being able to look in the mirror and love yourself unconditionally. To speak to yourself – with love, compassion, respect and dignity – the way we should be speaking to everyone we meet.

Many people are brought up believing they are not worthy of love and therefore criticize themselves ruthlessly, especially when looking at themselves in a mirror. Hay believes 'mirror work' helps a person re-establish a kinder sense of self though this profound action.

Hay's Mirror Work
When Richardson asked Hay about the work, Hay pulled out a small round mirror from her bra and began talking to herself with enduring affection, "My darling you look beautiful today. I love you." which stunned the audience to roars of laughter. (Editor's Note: I have been doing 'mirror work' every day since. I put a mirror on a silk cord and wear it around my neck to check in several times a day and tell myself how beautiful I am per Hay's sage advice. It takes a little getting used to ... lol ... but I get lots of big smiles when I do it in public places, which is quite joyous in itself. I have found this exercise to be brilliant for assessing reflections of others and myself for personal growth.)

Richardson asked, "What else are you carrying in that bra?" To everyone’s surprise, Hay had an assortment of important womanly items stashed in there, a hotel room key, lip gloss, a few dollars, and when Richardson became emotional over part of the conversation, Hay pulled out a clean tissue for her and announced, "I come fully prepared." It was an afternoon filled with much laughter and tears. Their new book, Creating An Exceptional Life, is a rare glimpse at friends, teaching friends about creating and living an exceptional life.

Louise Hay has been a true inspiration to me over the last 30 years and to this day still brings a smile to my face when I'm reminded that she really didn't get started until she was in her '50s. There is bright hope for all of us 50 year olds who still have a full lifetime of things left to accomplish - I Can Do It!

Later that day, angel intuitive Doreen Virtue gave a beautiful photo presentation that visually displayed audio patterning in relation to the vibration of sound frequency of words - ever reminding us how powerful our words truly are, and the importance of using them wisely. This science of vibrational energy produced by thoughts and words has been nicely documented in the proficient work of Dr. Masaru Emoto in studying water crystals as shown in the film, What The Bleep Do We Know?.  (Editor’s Note: Virtue has created a beautiful Oracle Angel card deck that I’ve been using for many years along side my morning meditation to help set the tone for my day, and highly recommend them.)

Christiane Northrup
Author and famed woman guru Dr. Christiane Northrup, was next on the schedule, ready to discuss important female related issues such as breast health and the differences between mammograms and thermography for monitoring, and the detection of any potential breast health problems. The information was quite empowering for those who were ready to open their minds to learning more about a holistic and perhaps more efficient option. She also encouraged women to get their groove going with movement and brought her daughter out on stage (who was fabulously sexy and well versed in pole dancing exercise) to give us all a few lessons. And what grinding lesson would be complete without a man onstage? So out came – you guessed it, Wayne Dyer, ready to dance with the ladies ... a rare and wonderful treat!

Sonia Choquette
While there were lots of other wonderful authors and experiences over the weekend, another anticipated workshop was presented by Sonia Choquette, an enthusiastic young author who I've admired since reviewing one of her early books (Your Physic Pathways). This woman is filled with so much light and energy you can't help but to sing, dance and be happy when you are around her, which is what everyone in the room did. I bought her Attunement to Higher Vibrational Living (4) cd set, which I love to listen to while going to sleep, or even working - fabulous - even though the beginning of each cd says find a place where you can get comfortable ... I guess that says a lot about how much I love what I do, that I can feel comfortable about listening to a relaxing, affirming and transformational cd while I work ... lol ... brilliantly wonderful indeed.

This year Hay House continues there great conference schedule with eight dates all over the world - learn more about the I Can Do It! conferences visit www.icandoit.net.

Wayne Dyer struts his stuff!
